Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig in September 21, 1983. Maggie Grace is an American actor best known for her character Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV series Lost. After her parents divorced, she moved with her mom in Los Angeles. It was a struggle to get by when she got her first part in the acting world in the film Rachel's Room's main character. The TV film Murder in Greenwich where she portrayed 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played the lead actor in Lost in its two initial seasons. In 2004 she received the Screen Actors Guild Award with the entire ensemble. Grace has worked together with Tom Welling on The Fog in the year 2005, decided to make the move into film. The actress was as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in the year 2008. She played the same role as Kim Mills in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both 2012). Grace performed the role of Shannon again in Lost's finale and in two additional episodes. In 2013 she appears in the sixth season of Californication. The character she plays is Faith who's both the star-gazer and a groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. Being part of the Gyllenhaal Family she's the younger sister to actor Jake Gyllenhaal. She started her acting career in the teen years with minor parts in a few of the films of her father and starred with her brother in the famous cult classic Donnie Darko (2001). Then she appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal was nominated for an Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) and the romantic comedy Secretary (2002). Both films received acclaim from critics. Following several commercially-successful films, including World Trade Center in 2006 her fame grew in the role of Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). She was nominated as the best supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of a single mother as she appeared in Crazy Heart. Following that she was able to star in comedies along with dramas, such as Nanny McPhee And The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) as well as Will Not Back Down (12). The other roles she's played included Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 an action thriller) and musicians in Frank (2014 and drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and The Kindergarten Teacher. Gyllenhaal debuted as a director and writer in 2021, with the psychological drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received an award for the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award.
